Flame Tree Developments (Fiji) Limited was established in 2002 as a building company on Denarau Island. In 2005, Glenn joined the company and was instrumental in bringing on board Hiways Stabilisers from NZ, which resulted in a total restructure and a shift in focus to Civil Engineering contracting in the South Pacific with the vision to provide engineering excellence and first class service delivery. Andrew joined the company in 2008 and shortly afterwards the current shareholders purchased the Hiway Stabilizers shares and Flame Tree is now proudly a 100% Fiji owned company.
Flame Tree Developments has since evolved to that perfect blend of international expertise, technical skill, a genuine track record of performance along with shrewd levels of local knowledge. All of these attributes have strengthened our experience and capacity to deliver successful products and projects for our clients.
The Directors of Flame Tree have over 20 years of experience operating in Fiji and the South Pacific, with our management team possessing critical depths of knowledge in engineering and construction expertise. We proudly employ local personnel as team leaders, supervisors, skilled operators and at every level producing world class results.
We have specialized in-house services such as Project Management, Engineering, Land Surveying and Project Supervision in Fiji without the need for expatriate outsourcing.
Throughout the years, Flame Tree has extended its operational reach and experience to include Vanuatu and other South Pacific Island nations.
Our weapon of choice is the excavator. We use only reliable, quality Hitachi construction machinery and have a range from 5 to 45 tonne for anything that involves earthmoving to create roads, marinas, beaches, golf courses and underground civil infrastructure. We have worked on some of Fiji’s most prestigious and recognised resort and infrastructure development projects.
In late 2008, after being held to ransom by an aggregate supplier on an airport project, we realised we needed to have control of our own resources and ventured into the quarry and crushing business.
We developed our skills at our Vuda Quarry, and then established at Saru in Lautoka followed by the Waimanu Quarry in Suva. Since then we have built up a compliment of plant technology, expertise and are now the major supplier of roading aggregates in Fiji with aggregate supply becoming the core of our business.
In 2016 we expanded our fleet and staff to include road building capability and in 2018 this was further complemented with state of the art cement spreading and stabilizing plant.
Our Plant and Equipment fleet is supported by our dedicated Plant Manager, extensive workshop facilities and our team of mechanics, fitter/welders and fabricators. We manufacture much of our own ancillary plant and temporary works elements and maintain our equipment to the highest level.
