Tonga Climate Resilient Transport Project II (TCRTP II)

The Tonga Climate Resilient Transport Project II (TCRTP II), under the Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI), is pleased to announce that the Resurfacing Works on the Kaufana Airport in ‘Eua are now completed. The Practical Completion inspection was undertaken on 22nd July 2025. Joining the Supervision Engineer, GHD, and the Contractor, Flame Tree Developments (Fiji) Pte Ltd were representatives from the Civil Aviation Office and the TCRTP II Management Unit within MOI, and representatives from the Tonga Airports Ltd. The works were completed ahead of time, and the airport will soon be back in operation after a 2-week closure. The contractor has started demobilisation, and the Defects Liability Period of 24 months has commenced. The next formal inspection will be the 12-month defects inspection in July 2026.
