PLANTATION ISLAND RESORT BEACH LAGOON MALOLO ISLAND, FIJI

The swimming beach at Plantation Island Resort went dry at low tide so to enhance the aesthetic appearance they wanted to dig this deeper. Flame Tree were engaged to develop a methodology and carry out the works creating a bund wall so the area could be pumped dry and then excavate 37,000m3 of sand and loose coral to the new sea bed level and finally removal of the bund. The excavated material was placed and compacted in the location of the proposed new arrivals and front of house area. Included in this were extensions of the stormwater culverts and revetment walls.
